News Corp is no longer trying to sell Ottaway Newspapers ... E&P reports that Marianne Stanton, editor and publisher of Ottaway's Nantucket newspapers, told her staff Tuesday afternoon that "we're not being sold" and expressed relief about moving from uncertainty to "the business of serving our readers and advertisers."

A crew of underground Brooklyn emcees have started a T-shirt campaign against the tight clothes trend in Hip Hop. Personally I can remember a time when niggas wore tight jeans and nobody gave a damn. It was called the 80's.

A special operations staff noncommissioned officer has died in Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. Edgar A. Heredia, 28, of Houston died Thursday of wounds he sustained in combat in Farah province. The death marks the continuation of a violent trend in Afghanistan. At least 45 international troops were killed in Afghanistan in June.
